Dr. Cousens' Blog: Empowering you to live consciously through scientifically researched information

"We live in an age of headlines and soundbites.  The internet is packed full of information but typically runs low on wisdom.  This is the reason I write such long and comprehensive blogs.  My work is becoming known for its in depth analysis of today’s issues. My articles are repeated attempts to provide people with a substantial understanding of the issues at hand, and the wisdom to know how to address these issues in their personal lives. I typically provide an article summary, which distills the main points for those in a hurry.  While some people think in soundbites, I tend to think in chapters and books.  My approach is holistic, and, as such, requires that I present both a spiritual and a scientific overview in my ongoing mission of merging the heavens and the earth.  As a scientist, a medical doctor, and an artist of consciousness, providing my readers with the option for depth is my way of serving humanity."

On a political level, I am staunchly against sending anyone to jail for marijuana use, as many people’s lives have been damaged by such social abuse. However, we cannot deny the impact that this substance has had on our society. The larger all-pervasive drug issue debates should not be held on the grounds that these substances are healthy, superfoods or medicinal.

Marijuana may open the door to apparently deeper experiences of consciousness. However, these experiences are ultimately superficial. While marijuana may open the mind to these apparently deeper levels of the soul, it may also provide the mind with experiences beyond what it can safely handle, at cost to the physical body and the brain.

Marijuana use increases inertia, disease, social chaos (especially amongst vulnerable teenagers), car and motorcycle accidents (by 9.5 times), and crime. Its negative impact on brain cells inhibits our ability to maintain consistent communion with God, humanity, and Nature. In short it makes us physically weak, psychically suggestible, emotionally immature, and socially inept. This is why a vote for legalizing marijuana is a vote to weaken ourselves and our society, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

There are many "best" lists of healthy foods, superfoods, and live foods in the media. What is missing, however, is a context for choosing what best serves you and your life's purpose. In my set of twenty-two recommendations, I will provide a framework to help you understand which appropriate herbs and superfoods to select for your specific constitution, condition, and your immediate and long-term life's purpose.

Subtle evil refers to dark forces that can penetrate our fields subliminally through media and popular culture. While overt evil in the world (such as stealing, lying, cheating and violence) is easier to detect, subtle evil is insidious and much harder to identify. While we may be aware of the need to steer clear of "overt evil" in the form of violence, drugs and harmful activities, we may be vulnerable to subtler negative forces, because we do not recognize them as harmful.
